D-backs to host Throwback Night featuring second annual Alumni Game, presented by Denny's, in partnership with Sanderson Ford
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks will host Throwback Night, featuring the 2nd annual Alumni Game presented by Denny's, in partnership with Sanderson Ford, on Aug. 31 at Chase Field. The current D-backs team will wear "throwback" jerseys that feature the team's former purple, black and teal colors, during their game vs. the Giants at 5:10 p.m. Shortly after the game, D-backs alumni including Luis Gonzalez, Matt Williams, Augie Ojeda, Travis Lee, Reggie Sanders and Steve Finley will take the field to play a three-inning game.
The "throwback" jerseys that the current D-backs team will wear for the game will be autographed and auctioned off online at www.dbacks.com/auctions. In addition, the Team Shop will offer a selection of throwback merchandise, including replica "throwback" jerseys and hats. The alumni will wear Sedona red and white jerseys to represent their respective teams, with Gonzalez and Williams serving as managers during the Alumni Game.
The Alumni Game festivities will begin with an on-field pregame ceremony to introduce the following D-backs alumni expected to attend: Joel Adamson, Carlos Baerga, Scott Brow, Bobby Chouinard, Alex Cintron, Jason Conti, Omar Daal, Elmer Dessens, Chris Donnels, Erubiel Durazo, Mike Fetters, Mark Grace, Shea Hillenbrand, Mark Little, Albie Lopez, Hensley Meulens, Mike Morgan, Vladimir Nunez, Russ Ortiz, Bret Prinz, Stephen Randolph, Armando Reynoso, Junior Spivey, Andy Stankiewicz, Kelly Stinnett, Greg Swindell, Javier Vasquez, Turner Ward and Brandon Webb. Players are subject to change and some may not participate in the game. Fans can get autographs and photos from Ojeda and Hillenbrand on Aug. 24 from 10-11 a.m. at Sanderson Ford, located at 6400 North 51st Avenue in Glendale, Ariz.

Currently, fans are encouraged to log on to foxsportsarizona.com/dbackslegend to vote for the D-backs legend they feel deserves to be featured in the Legends Entertainment District. The nominees are: Bob Brenly, Steve Finley, Curt Schilling and Matt Williams. Fan voting runs through Wednesday, Aug. 21. The nominee who receives the most votes will be featured on a 42-foot tall super graphic across from Chase Field located at the intersection of 7th Street and Jefferson in the Legends Entertainment District and will be unveiled during the pregame show on Aug. 31.
