Padres announce plans to celebrate local Little League champions

Second and third place Little League World Series finishers to be hosted at Petco Park

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced plans to celebrate the accomplishments of two local Little League teams that recently returned from the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn. The club will host the United States Champion Eastlake All-Stars at Petco Park on Saturday, September 7 and Municipal de Tijuana Seleccionados, who took 3rd place by beating Connecticut in the LLWS consolation game, on Friday, September 20.

"Both of these local teams have captivated our region and made all of us proud," said Padres President & CEO Mike Dee. "The entire Padres organization, especially the players, was impressed with not only their extraordinary level of play on the field, but also their resolve and heart. We are thrilled to honor their accomplishments at Petco Park."

As part of their special nights, both teams will have the opportunity to meet Padres players and take batting practice on the Major League field. In addition, the teams will be honored as part of that night's pregame ceremony. The Padres are providing game tickets to players, coaches and families of both teams.
