Detroit Tigers announce 2014 Schedule

DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers today released their 2014 schedule, featuring 81 home games at Comerica Park, including contests against American League Central Division rivals, as well as Interleague contests against the Colorado Rockies, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants. The Tigers will open the season at home on March 31 with a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals, and will close out the season with a six-game homestand against the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins.

A charter member of the American League since 1901, the Tigers will begin their 114th season at home when the club welcomes the Kansas City Royals for a three-game series March 31 - April 3. The opening homestand continues with three games against the Baltimore Orioles April 4 - 6.

The Tigers welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers for the first home Interleague series of the season July 8-9, host the Colorado Rockies August 1-3, and host the Pittsburgh Pirates August 13-14. The New York Yankees will make their only trip to Comerica Park August 26-28, while the club will close out Interleague play with a rematch of the 2012 World Series against the San Francisco Giants September 5-7.
