Washington Nationals to host third annual Wounded Warrior Celebrity Softball Classic

WHAT: The Washington Nationals are proud to host the third annual Wounded Warrior Celebrity Softball Classic (#NatsWWClassic) following the 1:35 p.m. Nationals-Phillies game on Sunday, September 15.

Celebrities will play alongside the extraordinary athletes of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) as part of a free postgame event designed to show support for all members of the military.

Fans who wish to attend the Celebrity Softball Classic must have a valid ticket for the September 15 Nationals-Phillies game. For each ticket purchased through nationals.com/celebritysoftball, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the WWAST. Tickets will also be available at the box office. 

WHO: This year's WWCSC will feature celebrity participants as well as members of WWAST, a team that proves that life without a limb is limitless, and that the road to recovery - no matter how long - can lead to a full and satisfying life for veterans and their families.

In addition to Nationals coaches, wives and broadcasters, the following celebrities from across television, film, sports and the military are scheduled to participate*:

  • Brian Dietzan, NCIS
  • Sakina Jaffrey, House of Cards
  • Katie Ledecky, Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record Holder, USA Swimming
  • Omar Benson Miller, CSI: Miami
  • Luke Russert, Correspondent, NBC News
  • Admiral Sandy Winnefeld, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
