The Kansas City Royals make their last visit to Comerica Park (September 13-15), while the Seattle Mariners make their only trip to Detroit this year with a four-game set (September 16-19) and the homestand concludes with a three-game set against the Chicago White Sox (September 20-22).

·  Second Annual Pink Out the Park, presented by Delta Air Lines. The Detroit Tigers and Karmanos Cancer Institute have teamed up to celebrate and honor those touched by breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the park to support breast health awareness. The first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive a pink breast health awareness handbag, courtesy of Delta Air Lines and there will be a special pre-game, on-field ceremony featuring hundreds of breast cancer survivors. Special Detroit Tigers pink pins will be available for purchase for $12 at all Comerica Park retail locations. A portion of the proceeds will benefit breast cancer research at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

·  Game Ball Delivery: Petty Officer 2^nd Class Kelly Field of the United States Navy from Perry, Michigan will deliver the game ball. Petty Officer 2nd Class Field recently returned from deployment to the Horn of Africa where she served as an intelligence specialist. She has earned a Joint Service Achievement Medal and her Expeditionary Warfare Qualification. She has proudly served her country for four years.
·  Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Raffle: The Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Charity Raffle continues at Comerica Park this season at every Friday and Saturday home game. The partner charity for this weekend's 50/50 raffle is the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. 50/50 Charity Raffle volunteers are stationed throughout the ballpark in their orange 50/50 Raffle aprons, at entry gates and at the 50/50 raffle table near Gate A. Karmanos is among the nation's best cancer centers. Karmanos strives to prevent, detect and eradicate all forms of cancer. ·  First Responders Recognition: The Tigers will celebrate the men and women of local fire and police departments and their dedication to our community through public service in a special pre-game on-field ceremony. The club will also honor the men and women who lost their lives during the attacks on September 11^th, as well as local first responders who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The Tigers donated tickets to local firefighters and police officers so that they would have the opportunity to enjoy a game alongside their families. Select firefighters and police officers will be recognized for their service to our local communities prior to the national anthem. Representatives from the following police and fire forces will represent their respective communities: Dearborn Heights Fire Department, Detroit Fire Department, Detroit Police Department, Farmington Hills Fire Department, Farmington Hills Police Department, Franklin Bingham Fire Department, Livonia Fire Department, Michigan State Police, Royal Oak Fire Department, Saginaw Police Department, Southfield Fire Department, Trenton Police Department, Waterford Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff, West Bloomfield Police Department. The Farmington Hills Fire and Police Departments provide a joint services honor guard to present the colors during the National Anthem and a police officer and firefighter will throw out the ceremonial first pitches.
·  MVP Program: Each Monday home game during the 2013 season, Tigers broadcaster, Mario Impemba invites 20 veterans from earlier conflicts to come down to the ballpark on the FOX Sports Detroit Fan Express and enjoy a Tigers game. Each veteran is given a special "MVP" t-shirt, game ticket and food voucher thanks to Mario Impemba and the Detroit Tigers.  
·  Hunter's Homies: Tigers All-Star outfielder Torii Hunter has partnered with the Detroit Tigers Foundation to host deserving Tigers fans during the 2013 season. Program participants each receive a game ticket, a Hunter's Homies t-shirt and the opportunity to meet Hunter on the field during Tigers batting practice. This week, Hunter will host children and staff from the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan.

·  Scherzer's Superstars: Each Tuesday home game, Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer invites eight young people and their mentors from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Detroit to Comerica Park to watch batting practice on the field, receive complimentary Scherzer's Superstars t-shirts and have the opportunity to meet Max before the enjoying the Tigers game. Through the program, Scherzer hopes to instill excitement in the game of baseball with the children, and thank the mentors for volunteering their time to serve as a positive role model for the Detroit community.
·  Roberto Clemente Award Presentation: In honor of Hall of Famer and 15-time All-Star Roberto Clemente, who died on New Year's Eve 1972 during a humanitarian mission to assist earthquake victims in Nicaragua, Major League Baseball and all 30 Clubs annually celebrate Roberto Clemente Day. This initiative pays tribute to Clemente's lasting legacy and recognizes players who best represent the game of Baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions, both on and off the field. The 2013 Detroit Tigers nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award is Miguel Cabrera. As an All-Star third baseman and a leader in clubhouse, Miguel Cabrera recognizes his significant role on the team, in the league and in his community. He continues to be a star on the field while supporting programs and charities to support the youth of greater Detroit and Venezuela. Cabrera joins Mark Shafer, Chevrolet District Sales Manager during a pregame ceremony at Comerica Park as Cabrera is presented with the 2013 Detroit Tigers Roberto Clemente Award.
·  Tigers Wives Broadcast Auction: Throughout Tuesday's game, FOX Sports Detroit will be broadcasting the Detroit Tigers and FOX Sports Detroit Tigers Wives Broadcast Auction to benefit the Detroit Tigers Foundation. The baskets feature items hand-selected by the Tigers Wives, including unique memorabilia and autographed items, along with their famous husbands' favorite things like restaurant gift cards, CDs, DVDs, snacks and more! The auction also includes baskets filled with the favorite things of some of your favorite FOX Sports Detroit personalities. Wednesday, September 18 vs. Seattle Mariners at 7:08 p.m. Gates Open at 5:30 p.m.
· The first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive a Max Scherzer jersey backpack, courtesy of Lay's.
·  Gloves for Kids pre-game ceremony: Throughout the year, Tigers players Joaquin Benoit, Darin Downs, Brayan Pena, Andy Dirks, Luke Putkonen, Max Scherzer and Matt Tuiasosopo signed autographs in exchange for new or gently used baseball and softball equipment at ABC Warehouse stores throughout Southeast Michigan. All equipment donated benefitted the Tigers Gloves for Kids program, which provides youth baseball / softball equipment to local Detroit youth so they can enjoy the game we all love. The Tigers collected more than 3,200 pieces of equipment, including nearly 500 gloves for children in our area, and will celebrate the success of the program in a special pre-game, on-field ceremony.
·  Cabrera's Chamitos: Tigers All-Star third baseman Miguel Cabrera will invite 20 fans to Comerica Park for each remaining Wednesday home game as part of his Cabrera's Chamitos program. The group will watch batting practice from the field, receive complimentary Cabrera's Chamitos t-shirts and will have the opportunity to meet Cabrera. The group is also treated to complimentary transportation to Comerica Park by the FOX Sports Detroit Fan Express. This week Cabrera will welcome children from the Clark Park Coalition. The Clark Park Coalition exists to provide an array of diverse, high-quality recreational, educational, social and mentoring programs for southwest Detroit families promoting skills development which helps our youth grow into responsible, self-confident adults. Clark Park Coalition is a partner of the Detroit Recreational Department.
·  Game Ball Delivery: Sergeant Michael Nick of the United States Army from Linden, Michigan will deliver the game ball. Sergeant Nick recently returned from Afghanistan and has also served a tour in Iraq. He has earned a Combat Infantry Badge, an Army Commendation Medal, an Iraq Campaign Medal, an Afghan Campaign Medal and Airborne Wings. Sergeant Nick has proudly served his country more than seven years.  

Thursday, September 19 vs. Seattle Mariners at 1:08 p.m. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.
·  Focus: Hope Parade: The Tigers will celebrate the 45^th anniversary of Focus: Hope, a nationally renowned civil and human rights organization. Through a food program, providing assistance to 42,000 low-income mothers, children and senior citizens, as well as education and training programs, and the "Hope Village" focusing on the blocks surrounding the organization's headquarters on Oakman Boulevard, Mission: Hope uses intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty and injustice.

Friday, September 20 vs. Chicago White Sox at 7:08 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
·  Fan Appreciation Weekend: The Tigers will randomly select lucky winners in attendance throughout the weekend to win great prizes, including Tigers gear and authentic merchandise as part of Fan Appreciation Weekend, presented by Comerica Bank. The annual "Shirt Off Our Back" giveaway will return on Sunday, September 22^nd. Fans will be selected and will win, during a postgame on-field ceremony, the actual game-worn jerseys of all the Detroit Tigers players and coaches. All prizes will be selected randomly using a computer generated system to ensure equal opportunity for ALL fans.
· The first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive a 2014 magnet schedule, courtesy of Medical Weight Loss.
·  Ilitch Charities Check Presentation: During a pre-game on-field ceremony at Comerica Park, Chris Ilitch, Chairman, Ilitch Charities and Mike Healy, President, Ilitch Charities will present checks to the beneficiaries of the Annual Ilitch Charities Golf Outing, providing grants to support organizations that make a measurable impact in the community. Benefiting charities include the Detroit Historical Society, the Macomb Oakland Regional Center (MORC) and the Michigan Humane Society.
·  Sanchez's Smiles: Anibal Sanchez will invite 18 patients and their families from Children's Hospital of Michigan to Comerica Park to watch the game from his luxury suite. Guests are patients in the craniofacial and cleft lip clinic. As guests of Sanchez, the group will watch the Tigers take on the Chicago White Sox from Sanchez's personal luxury suite, enjoy a ballpark fare dinner, and receive Sanchez / #19 t-shirts.
·  Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Raffle: The Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Charity Raffle continues at Comerica Park this season at every Friday and Saturday home game. The partner charity for this weekend's 50/50 raffle is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is now the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D.
·  Game Ball Delivery: Sergeant First Class Matthew Crimando of the United States Army National Guard from Grand Blanc will deliver the game ball. Sergeant First Class Crimando has served in Iraq and most recently in Afghanistan. During his service, he has earned a Meritorious Service Medal and a Bronze Star. Sergeant First Class Crimando has proudly served his country for 14 years.

·  Game Ball Delivery: Master-at-Arms Samuel F. Turturice of the United States Navy from Eastpointe, Michigan will deliver today's game ball. Master-at-Arms Turturice recently returned from Bahrain where he is a member of Costal Riverine Group Two, which supports operations New Dawn, Iraqi Freedom and Vigilant Mariner. He is qualified as an expeditionary warfare specialist, expert rifle shooter and a pistol sharpshooter. He has earned a Good Conduct Medal, three Overseas Ribbons and three Sea Service Deployment ribbons. Master-at-Arms Turturice has proudly served his country for four years.
·  Chevy in the D: Pose with PAWS Contest Winner Announced: Throughout the summer, the "Chevy in the D: Pose with PAWS" app allowed users to take a photo with the beloved Detroit Tigers mascot, PAWS and upload them for a chance to win a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado All-Star Edition. Four lucky finalists will be invited down on the field after the game, and one of them will take home a brand new truck, courtesy of Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers.

·  Hank Greenberg Recognition: The Detroit Tigers celebrate the memory of Hank Greenberg and two people preserving his memory, Aviva Kempner and John Rosengren in a special pre-game ceremony. Greenberg was a Hall of Fame player and two-time MVP who still holds many Tiger team records, including most home runs in a single season (58) and most RBI in a single season (183). He led the team to four American League pennants and two World Series championships. Greenberg played his rookie season with the Tigers eighty years ago in 1933. The team retired his No. 5 thirty years ago. Filmmaker Aviva Kempner, a Detroit native, made the Peabody award-winning documentary "The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg." She has recently released a DVD set which includes the original documentary along with over two hours of new material, including interviews with Ted Williams, Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg the original Tigers team of the '30s and '40s. Author John Rosengren wrote the definitive biography on Hank Greenberg:  The Hero of Heroes, published by the Penguin Group this past spring. The book sets the record straight on the Greenberg legend.
·  Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League Recognition: The Detroit Tigers will honor the Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League team for their accomplishments during the 2013 Little League season, including their trip to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The Grosse Pointe Woods-Shore team is the 10th team from Michigan to ever go to the Little League World Series in the history of the league, and the first Michigan team in 15 years to go to Little League World Series.

SPECIAL INITIATIVES

Verlander's Victory for Veterans: When Justin Verlander takes the mound at Comerica Park, he strives for victory. This season, his outings on the hill take on a new meaning. For each of his home starts, Verlander will host Veterans from the John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Detroit and the Veterans Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System. These Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from the comfort of Verlander's personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. All guests receive a Verlander's Victory for Veterans T-shirt and are welcomed on the video board during the game. Veterans also receive a personalized welcome letter from Verlander. When you see Verlander on the mound, he is not only playing for his team and Tigers fans around the world, he is also playing for America's heroes.
