The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation presents Jazz on the Grass benefitting the Jackie Robinson Foundation October 6

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) announced today that JAZZ on the Grass (JOTG) tickets are available. JOTG is a benefit concert supporting the Jackie Robinson Foundation, which provides scholarships and comprehensive support services to minority students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. The event will take place at a private residence in Sherman Oaks on Sunday, October 6 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. NLDS Game 3 will air live at this event.

In an effort to continue to honor Jackie Robinson's legacy and increase resources for gifted students of color, LADF is proud to host the 2013 benefit which will feature phenomenal Jazz, mouthwatering cuisine, cocktails and both a silent and live auction with unique items and experiences.

Past performers at JAZZ on the Grass have included the late George Duke, Kenny Rankin, Sheila E., Lalah Hathaway, Jeffrey Osborne and Dave Koz. This year's all-star lineup features:

  • Marcus Miller: American jazz composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, best known as a bass guitarist
  • Poncho Sanchez: Mexican-American conguero, Latin jazz band leader and salsa singer who in 2000 along with his ensemble won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album for the Concord Picante album Latin Soul
  • Amanda Brown: American R&B/Alternative singer-songwriter and contestant on the third season of NBC's "The Voice" who finished in the top six on the show
  • Ray Parker Jr.: guitarist, songwriter, producer and recording artist
  • Freda Payne: singer and actress best known for 1970 hit single, "Band of Gold"
  • Miki Howard: singer and actress who had a string of Top 10 hit songs in the late 1980s and early 1990s several which peaked at number one on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B Singles chart
  • Patrice Rushen: composer, record producer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, music director and vocalist whose 1982 single, "Forget Me Nots," received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance
  • Sylvester Rivers: Composer, producer, arranger and pianist who has recorded with numerous hit artists including Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, The Jacksons, Dionne Warwick, New Edition, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Barry White and Aretha Franklin, just to name a few
  • Sibusiso Victor Masondo: writer and jazz bassist extraordinaire
  • Bill Cantos: keyboardist, singer/songwriter, arranger, and producer who has toured and/or recorded with Phil Collins, Elton John, Leon Russell, Bob Dylan and Barry Manilow, just to name a few
  • Eric Darius: smooth Jazz saxophonist and composer
  • Jeff Bradshaw: Jazz trombonist writer, arranger, producer and singer who has toured with artists including Jill Scott, The Roots, Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Common, just to name a few
  • Salli Richardson: songtress and TV and film actress known for her role as Dr. Allison Blake on the sci-fi TV series "Eureka" and voice acting as Elisa Maza on the Disney animated series "Gargoyles"
