Coors Field renovations and design upgrades

Rooftop Deck Largest in Sports

DENVER - Continuing their ongoing improvements and capital investments designed to enhance the fan experience and make events at the ballpark the best they can be, the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Metropolitan Stadium District announced today the next construction project at Coors Field. An extensive redesign and renovation to the upper rightfield seating area and concourse will be completed with a "LoDo" theme that includes spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains from a rooftop urban setting.

"We are always striving to improve the entire experience at Coors Field," said Rockies Owner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dick Monfort. "With that spirit in mind, it is exciting to add to our lower downtown ballpark the largest Roof Top Deck in sports, featuring two levels with more than 38,000 square feet."

With the design help of Populous (the original architect of Coors Field), Mortenson Construction (one of the original construction contractors of Coors Field) and Aramark (original and exclusive food and beverage provider to Coors Field) the current phase of improvements began earlier this month.

The Upper Rightfield and Concourse Project features will include:

  • Stunning panoramic views of the entire Front Range and surrounding neighborhoods, as well as Downtown Denver.
  • 5280 Craft Bar - celebrating Denver, the Mile High City with a bar 52 feet and 80 inches long with 52 beer taps.
  • CHUBurger Restaurant, an established Colorado craft casual dining experience, featuring a display kitchen and craft burgers made with beef raised from their own Hops & Heifers Farm in Longmont, Colorado.
  • VIP Cabana Terrace with an urban garden setting that includes a fireplace, rooftop lights, casual furniture and pregame entertainment.

The Rockies have called Coors Field home for 19 years and throughout that time the Club's ownership group has invested into a wide range of stadium improvements. A year ago the Rockies added a new Press Club level restaurant, improved suites, and upgraded several other areas of the ballpark including the Children's Playground, Blue Moon Brewing Company and the Warning Track area. Although the third oldest park in the National League (Chicago, Los Angeles), Coors Field is still regarded as one of the finest experiences in all of sports.
