Cardinals decline 2014 option on pitcher Jake Westbrook

ST. LOUIS, MO., October 31, 2013 -The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have declined their 2014 option on pitcher Jake Westbrook. The 36-year-old Westbrook was signed thru 2013 with a mutual option for next season.

Westbrook went 7-8 with a 4.63 ERA in 21 games (19 starts) for the Cardinals this season. He owns a career mark of 105-103 and was 36-32 with a 4.27 ERA in his three-plus seasons (2010-13) with the Cardinals.
