Braves announce two roster moves

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves made a pair of roster moves today, including the addition of left-handed pitcher Ryan Buchter and right-handed pitcher Wirfin Obispo to the 40-man roster.

Buchter played the entire 2013 season with the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves, making 51 appearances out of the bullpen. He logged 103 strikeouts in 62.0 innings, while going 4-0 with a 2.76 ERA and five saves in as many opportunities. Buchter was acquired by the Braves from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for Rodrigo Lopez in May 2011 and attended Major League spring training in 2013.

Obispo, who was signed by the Braves as a minor-league free agent in November 2012 and attended Major League spring training in 2013 as a non-roster invitee, went 2-4 with a 3.53 ERA, while converting nine of 11 save opportunities in 54 relief appearances for the Gwinnett Braves last season.

The Braves currently have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
