Brewers Community Foundation and Milwaukee Brewers generate nearly $3 million during the 2013 season

MILWAUKEE - Brewers Community Foundation (BCF) and the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club raised over $2.8 million during the 2013 season, with support coming from Brewers ownership, fans, players and sponsors, along with special events throughout the year. Over the past four years, Brewers Community Foundation has generated over $11.5 million to support nonprofit organizations in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs.
 
"Mark and Debbie Attanasio have expressed sincere appreciation for all the community has done to partner with Brewers Community Foundation as we strive to play a meaningful role in improving the lives of individuals and their families within Greater Milwaukee," said Brewers Community Foundation Executive Director Cecelia Gore. "I am equally grateful for the support that Brewers players and their wives, fans and other supporters have demonstrated in partnership with our organization."
 
A wide variety of special events and initiatives were staged throughout the season, including the following:
 
-          Game Day 50/50 Raffle
-          5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk
-          Brewers Community Foundation Week
-          An Evening With Hank Aaron
-          Pink Tie Guy/Step Up To The Plate in support of Breast Cancer Prevention
-          Brewers Mini-Marathon
 
Brewers Community Foundation Week raised more than $234,000 during a series of events in August. BCF Week and the BCF Week Ultimate Auction were presented by the recently launched 2013 Leadership Council, which formed at the start of the season and is comprised of BMO Harris Bank, Delta Dental, Delzer Lithograph, Kapco, MillerCoors, Northwestern Mutual Foundation, Wisconsin Energy Foundation and West Bend Mutual.
 
The 50/50 Raffle raised over $1.6 million in total revenue in 2013 and has now exceeded the $5 million mark for raffle tickets sold over the past four years. The 5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk attracted 4,000 participants and provided a $75,000 contribution to Fisher House Wisconsin. In addition, BCF and the Brewers' Community Relations Department donated more than 13,000 items for auctions over the past year.
 
Some of the nonprofit programs previously supported by Brewers Community Foundation include ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, Arts at Large, Beckum Stapleton Little League, Boys & Girls Club, COA, Felix Mantilla Little League, Girl Scouts of Wisconsin, Hunger Task Force, Make-a-Wish, Sojourner Family Peace Center, UPAF, United Way, YMCA, and YWCA.
 
Through Brewers Community Foundation - the official charitable arm of the Milwaukee Brewers - Mark and Debbie Attanasio continue with their pledge to serve as leaders in the community. Brewers Community Foundation harnesses the pride, passion and commitment of Brewers fans, players and other supporters to positively impact the lives of children and their families in Greater Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
