Former stars Bo Jackson and Jim Thome added to SoxFest 2014 lineup

CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox announced an expanded list of former players scheduled to appear at SoxFest 2014, which now includes special guests Bo Jackson, named the Greatest Athlete of All-Time by ESPN's Sport Science, and Jim Thome, whose 612 career home runs place him seventh on the all-time list.

Jackson and Thome join current players Jose Abreu, Adam Dunn, Adam Eaton, Avisail Garcia, Erik Johnson, Nate Jones, Paul Konerko, Matt Lindstrom, Josh Phegley, Alexei Ramirez and Marcus Semien, and White Sox prospect Micah Johnson, who all are scheduled to be at SoxFest. Other former Sox players planning to attend, including Ron Kittle, Carlos May, Minnie Minoso, Tom Paciorek, Gary Peters and Frank Thomas. White Sox manager Robin Ventura also will be in attendance, as well as pitching coach Don Cooper and new hitting coach Todd Steverson.

SoxFest 2014 is sponsored by Miller Lite, Pepsi, Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV and will be held Friday, January 24, Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26, 2014.

The special SoxFest rate for a two-night stay at the Palmer House Hilton is $278 (plus applicable taxes and fees, detailed on whitesox.com). Fans who purchase a two-night stay are eligible to also purchase up to four SoxFest weekend passes per room reservation. 

SoxFest hotel packages and weekend passes are available for purchase in the same transaction at whitesox.com/SoxFest. Weekend passes only are available for purchase by fans who book the two-night stay. Friday night of SoxFest is limited to those who purchase the two-night stay and weekend passes.

The White Sox are once again offering fans a unique experience at SoxFest 2014 - the Premium Upgrade Package. The offering, a favorite among hundreds of SoxFest attendees, is now available to fans who have already purchased or will purchase the SoxFest hotel package and weekend pass(es) at the Palmer House Hilton.

This is the eighth year the historic Palmer House Hilton will host the annual White Sox fan gathering, now in its 22nd year.
