2014 Blue Jays Minor League Field Staffs

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have named their minor league field staffs for the 2014 season. The managers for the upcoming season will be GARY ALLENSON (Buffalo-AAA), BOBBY MEACHAM (New Hampshire-AA), OMAR MALAVE (Dunedin- High A), JOHN TAMARGO Jr. (Lansing- Low A), JOHN SCHNEIDER (Vancouver- Short Season), DENNIS HOLMBERG (Bluefield- Rookie Advanced), KENNY GRAHAM (Gulf Coast- Rookie) and JOSE MATEO (Dominican Summer League- Rookie). New to the organization will be RANDY ST. CLAIRE who joins the Buffalo Bisons as pitching coach, JEFF WARE who will be the pitching coach for the Vancouver Canadians and WILLIE COLLAZO who was a player/coach last season will be the Gulf Coast League pitching coach in 2014.

ST. CLAIRE, joins the Blue Jays organization after spending the 2013 season as the pitching coach for the Las Vegas 51's (New York Mets). The 53 year old has spent 10 years as a Major League pitching coach for the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals (2003 to 2009) and the Miami Marlins (2010-2012). As a player he pitched nine seasons in the majors with five different clubs posting a 12-6 record with a 4.14 ERA in 162 relief outings. The right-handed pitcher made two relief appearances for the Blue Jays in 1994.

WARE, 43, joins the Blue Jays after coaching for seven seasons in the New York Yankees organization including the last three as pitching coach for the Tampa Yankees in the Florida State League (A). In 1991 he was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays, 35th overall in the first round of the First-Year Player Draft out of Old Dominion University. He appeared in 18 Major League games, all with Toronto, during the 1995 & 1996 seasons posting a 3-6 record with a 7.47 ERA.

COLLAZO, 34, will become a full time coach after serving as a player/coach in 2013. The Puerto Rican native made six relief appearances for the New York Mets in 2007, his only Major League action. In 12 seasons in the minors he appeared in 368 games, making 100 starts and posting 55-54 record with 13 saves and an ERA of 4.00.
