Orioles name Marco Gentile as vice president, corporate partnerships

The Orioles today announced that Marco Gentile has been named Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. In his new role Gentile will oversee the corporate partnerships department, which includes new sponsorship advertising sales and partnership marketing. He and his staff will develop strategic, targeted and customized marketing solutions for new and returning corporate partners to enhance the relationship between the business community and the ballclub.

Gentile rejoins the Orioles after spending the previous six and a half years with the Washington Capitals Hockey Club, most recently as Senior Director of Corporate Sponsorship Sales. In addition to the Capitals, Gentile negotiated corporate partnerships for the entire Monumental Sports & Entertainment family, including the Wizards, Mystics and Verizon Center in Washington, DC.

A Baltimore native, Gentile spent the first decade of his career with the Orioles, starting as an intern in the club's fan services and promotions departments before moving into a full-time role in Corporate Sales. Gentile worked in the club's Corporate Sales department until July 2007, serving numerous roles, most recently as National Sales Account Manager for Sponsorships. He was responsible for selling in-ballpark, radio, television and print advertising to local, regional and national partners.

Gentile received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Business Administration from Loyola University Maryland. He has been an adjunct professor of Sports Marketing at his alma mater since 2007. Gentile and his wife, Gisele, reside in Crofton.
