Royals announce Opening Day 25-man roster

KANSAS CITY, MO (March 30, 2014) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have finalized their 25-man roster for Opening Day tomorrow at Detroit. 

The club placed right-handed pitchers Louis Coleman (bone contusion/sprain of middle finger on his right hand) and Luke Hochevar (recovery from Tommy John surgery) on the 15-day disabled list. Coleman's DL stint is retroactive to March 24, while Hochevar's is retroactive to March 21. The Royals also returned infielder Jason Donald to minor league camp and released catcher Ramon Hernandez from his minor league contract following Saturday's exhibition game in Milwaukee. 

The Royals currently have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
