Rangers acquire RHP Hector Noesi from Seattle in exchange for player to be named later or cash considerations

INF Jurickson Profar transferred from 15- to 60-day disabled list

The Texas Rangers today have acquired right-handed pitcher Hector Noesi from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

To make room on the 40-man roster for Noesi, the Rangers have transferred infielder Jurickson Profar from the 15- to the 60-day disabled list. The club will need to make another roster move when Noesi reports to Arlington.

Noesi, 27, was on the Mariners Opening Day roster and made 2 relief appearances, posting an 0-1 record while allowing 3 runs in 1.0 inning of work. His last outing was on April 3 at Oakland and he was designated for assignment on April 4. Noesi has a career 4-16 record with a 5.64 ERA (120 ER/191.1 IP) in 66 games/21 starts at the major league level for New York-AL (2011) and Seattle (2012-14). He was acquired by the Mariners in a trade with the Yankees on January 23, 2012, a deal that involved Jesus Montero and Michael Pineda.

Profar opened the season on the 15-day disabled list with a torn muscle in his right shoulder. The first date he would be eligible to return to the active roster is May 29.

With today's moves, the Rangers still have a full 40-man roster.
