Nick Franklin recalled from AAA Tacoma

Logan Morrison placed on 15-day disabled list with strained right hamstring.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced the following roster moves:

·       Nick Franklin, INF, recalled from AAA Tacoma

·       Logan Morrison, OF/DH, placed on 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring (retro to 4/15)

Franklin (#6) will be available for tonight's game vs. the Texas Rangers in Arlington (5:05 pm PT/7:05 pm CT).

Franklin, 23, appeared in 11 games for the Tacoma Rainiers batting .395 (17x43) with 3 doubles, 4 home runs and 13 RBI. He recorded at least one hit in 10 of his 11 games played (6 GS at 2B, 5 GS at SS), including 6 multi-hit games. He went 1-for-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI and hit his 4th home run last night vs. Salt Lake.

In 102 games with the Mariners last season the switch-hitting infielder batted .225 (83x369) with 20 doubles, 1 triple, 12 home runs and 45 RBI.

Morrison, 26, was pulled from Monday's series opener vs. the Rangers prior to the bottom of the 1st inning (in starting lineup in right field) with a strained right hamstring. In 8 games he is batting .150 (3x20).
