Royals debut new fan experience packages

KANSAS CITY, MO (April 16, 2014) - The Kansas City Royals have announced that fans may now participate one-of-a-kind fan experiences through the Royals Memories program. The program, available exclusively through the MLB.com At the Ballpark application for Android and iPhone, allows fans to purchase on-field experiences such as a Royals batting practice package, a postgame catch on the field or postgame photo on the field by clicking on "upgrades" in the app.

"We are excited to offer new and unique experiences to our fans and visiting guests through the Royals Memories program as they will enhance our overall guest experience," said Anthony Mozzicato, Director of Guest Experience. "The opportunity for our fans to be on the field for these available experiences will create lasting memories for a lifetime."

All available Royals Memories experience packages are housed in the MLB.com At the Ballpark application and are released at least two days prior to every homestand at Kauffman Stadium. Royals Memories are subject to availability and are always changing, so fans are encouraged to check their MLB.com At the Ballpark App often. Fans may also receive occasional text message updates regarding new package offerings by signing up at www.royals.com/memories.

When the Royals return home to host the Minnesota Twins in a three-game weekend series beginning Friday, April 18, the following experiences will be offered.

•          Royals Batting Practice Experience - Available April 18 only
  •     Limited to 20 guests
  •     Cost per guest: $150 per person
  •     Participants must meet in Kauffman Stadium's Gate C lobby by 4:30 p.m. The batting practice experience will end at 6 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. The experience is weather permitting and is subject to cancellation. If cancelled due to weather, guests will receive a refund. 
  •     In addition to watching batting practice on the field, guests will receive:
    •   Kauffman Stadium hat and Royals logo baseball
    •   Complimentary digital photo from FanPhotos with Kauffman Stadium field in background.

•          Postgame Catch on the Field - Available April 18, 19 and 20
  •     Limited to 20 guests
  •     Cost per guest: $75 per person
  •     Participants must meet in front of Kauffman Stadium's Guest Services location behind home plate on the plaza level within 10 minutes after the game concludes. All participants are responsible for bringing their own gloves. The Royals will provide baseballs to use for the experience. The experience is weather permitting and is subject to cancellation. If cancelled due to weather, guests will receive a refund. 
  •     Participants will be escorted to the outfield where they will have an opportunity to play catch for 15 minutes after the game.
  •     In addition, the package also includes one complimentary digital photo from FanPhotos per group.

•          Postgame Photo on the Field - Available April 18, 19 and 20
  •     Limited to 20 guests
  •     Cost per guest: $25 per person
  •     Participants must meet in front of Kauffman Stadium's Guest Services location behind home plate on the plaza level within 10 minutes after the game concludes. The experience is weather permitting and is subject to cancellation. If cancelled due to weather, guests will receive a refund. 
  •     The experience includes one digital photo from FanPhotos per group. The photo will be taken in front of the 3rd base Dugout Suites with Kauffman Stadium's CrownVision and fountains in the background.
  •     The package includes one digital photo from FanPhotos per group.
