Bryce Harper travels back in time in new "For the Love of Baseball" TV spot

Celebrating his "throwback" style of play, the latest spot from Major League Baseball's "For the Love of Baseball" campaign sees Washington Nationals All-Star outfielder Bryce Harper traveling through time, inserted seamlessly into old footage of baseball history. Throughout the spot, Harper visits legendary players like Babe Ruth and Ted Williams on their old fields in a virtual black-and-white time machine, suggesting his style of play would make him a good fit in any era.

The new creative debuts on MLB.com today and will appear during this weekend's nationally televised games on FOX Sports 1 and ESPN. It will also air on MTV2 and MLB Network throughout the season.

The "For the Love of Baseball" campaign, created by BBDO, celebrates everything that makes baseball special showcasing the personalities and unique abilities of some of the game's biggest stars.

Harper joins Andrew McCutchen, David Price and Mike Trout in being featured in the campaign. Additional player-specific creative featuring more of the game's top players, including Robinson Cano, Prince Fielder and Clayton Kershaw, among others, will roll out throughout the season.
