Sam Fuld claimed off waivers by Minnesota

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's announced today that outfielder Sam Fuld has been claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins.

Fuld was on the A's Opening Day roster and was batting .200 with two triples, a home run and four RBI in seven games before he was designated for assignment April 12 when Craig Gentry was reinstated from the DL. He started games at all three outfield positions, including each of his final four in center field. Fuld went 2 for 17 (.118) on the last road trip after going 4 for 13 (.308) on the first homestand.
