A's Reinstate Rodriguez from Disabled List; Option him to Sacramento

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's reinstated right-handed pitcher Fernando Rodriguez from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.

Rodriguez began the season on the disabled list as he continued to recover from his March 27, 2013 "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow. He began a rehab assignment with Sacramento April 3 and was 1-0 with a 1.04 ERA in eight relief appearances with the River Cats. The 29-year-old right-hander had a .242 opponents batting average and walked two while striking out 10 in 8.2 innings. Rodriguez was acquired from Houston with Jed Lowrie for Chris Carter, Brad Peacock and Max Stassi on Feb. 4, 2013.
