Twins Place Hicks on 7-Day DL, Recall Darnell

Recall Left-Handed Pitcher Logan Darnell From Triple-A

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 7-day disabled list with concussion-like symptoms. Hicks suffered the injury last night after crashing into the center-field wall in the sixth inning.

To replace Hicks on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled left-handed pitcher Logan Darnell from Triple-A Rochester. Darnell, who was originally drafted by the Twins in the sixth round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, made four starts for the Red Wings posting a 1.69 ERA (21.1 IP, 4 ER) with 21 strikeouts and seven walks. Darnell is expected to be in uniform (#38) for tonight's game vs. the Baltimore Orioles at Target Field.
