"Larry King At Bat With Tommy Lasorda" premieres Saturday at 9:00 p.m. on SportsNet LA

Hall of Fame Manager shares stories from his 65-year Dodger career with the talk show king

In the newest episode of the series, the talk show king talks to the Hall of Fame Manager about Lasorda's 65 seasons in the Dodger organization, including stories from his time as a player, scout, coach and manager. Lasorda also tells King about winning a gold medal as Manager of the 2000 U.S. Olympic baseball team and his unique friendship with Frank Sinatra.

On being an effective manager: "I took kids and made them believe, and had fun with them."

On Frank Sinatra's promise that he'd sing the National Anthem if Lasorda was hired as the Dodgers' Manager: "The day I got the job, I got a call from his secretary. 'When do you want Mr. Sinatra to sing?' I said, 'Opening Day, we'll both be opening together, Opening Day.' And Opening Day he came out and sang the National Anthem."

On Kirk Gibson's home run in the 1988 World Series: "Larry, I will never forget it the rest of my life. The way the fans saw him come out…I got goose bumps."
