Chevrolet and Houston Astros to Support Young Athletes through Chevy Youth Baseball Programs in 2014

The Houston Astros, Chevrolet and Houston Area Chevy Dealers are celebrating the 2014 season by placing an emphasis on activities that support Chevy Youth Baseball. Chevrolet will sponsor two youth baseball clinics at Minute Maid Park this season, on July 7 and 8, where young ballplayers will receive instruction and insight from Astros Urban Youth Academy coaches. Additionally, the Chevy Youth Base Stealer feature will place children right in the heart of the action at each home game throughout the 2014 season.

"The Houston Astros and Chevrolet enjoy a great partnership that supports our local community and especially our kids," said Astros Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Matt Brand. "We look forward to another fantastic year in 2014."

"Chevrolet is proud to partner with the Houston Astros in support of one of America's favorite pastimes" said David Nottoli, the Chevrolet Regional Director. "The Chevrolet Youth Baseball program provides the opportunity for young players in the Houston Area to participate in the sport and helps connect our Houston Area Dealers to the community."

"We are very excited for the 2014 Astros baseball season, and we are looking forward to working with our communities' youth baseball leagues!" said Bill Suessman, President of the Houston Area Chevy Dealers.

During every Astros home game, one young fan will "steal" first base while the grounds crew conducts field maintenance during the fifth inning break. Participants will be selected through Chevrolet and its local dealers. Each participating child gets to take home a replica first base.

On July 7 and 8, Chevrolet will host the Chevrolet Youth Baseball Clinics at Minute Maid Park. Each clinic features two hours of baseball instruction and includes lunch for over 400 kids. Participants will also gain additional baseball insight through a question and answer session with a former Astros player.

For the past four years, the Houston Area Chevy Dealers have partnered with local youth leagues donating over $40,000 in and around the Houston area in the form of equipment and monetary donations.
