The White Sox Amateur City Elite (ACE) program recognizes eight members of the program prior to Thursday's game through "Kids Take the Field." The ACE youth will take the field to greet White Sox players at their starting positions. The ACE program helps develop the next generation of inner-city baseball stars. Since its inception in 2007, 85 ACE alumni have received college baseball scholarships and 11 have been drafted by professional teams.

The Broadcast Bullpen Challenge is a first pitch competition between eight local television and radio personalities. In his first four seasons, Houston started 60 games and recorded 228 tackles, 37 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, five pass deflections, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries and one interception for the Oakland Raiders.
