Dodgers to display Josh Beckett's game-worn uniform from Sunday's no-hitter this homestand

LOS ANGELES -- All fans coming to the games this homestand will have the chance to brush up against history as the Dodgers announced today they will display pitcher Josh Beckett's game-worn uniform from his no-hitter last Sunday, at various sections of the ballpark over the next few weeks.

"We feel it is very important to share the storied Dodger history with our loyal fans, whether that history happens at Dodger Stadium or not," said Dodger Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Lon Rosen. "Hopefully our fans, the best fans in baseball, will come out to the park and take advantage of this opportunity to get up close and personal with one of baseball's most cherished accomplishments."  

The life-size "locker" display will feature Beckett's game-worn hat, jersey, pants, spikes and a game-used baseball from Sunday's no-hitter, when the Texas native dominated the Phillies in Philadelphia. In addition to the locker, fans can view various photographs from Sunday's historic celebration taken by the Dodgers' team photographer. The locker features a special graphic commemorating Beckett's achievement as well as a letter from Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, congratulating the All-Star pitcher for his history-making effort. The uniform display will debut tonight in the left-field pavilion plaza

Beckett's no-hitter marked the 21st in Dodger franchise history, the most of any MLB team (last: Hideo Nomo, Sept. 17, 1996 at Colorado). Beckett also joined Randy Johnson, Dave Stewart, Jack Morris, Bret Saberhagen, Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, Lew Burdette and Don Larsen as the only pitchers in MLB history to be selected World Series MVP and throw a no-hitter. Beckett has won his last three starts, going 3-0 with a 1.77 ERA (4 ER/20.1 IP) since May 13. 

Beckett's next start will be on Friday vs. Pittsburgh and right now the Dodgers are offering a limited number of $11 tickets to that contest (7:10 p.m.).
