White Sox Announce Upcoming Series Activities

WHAT:         Chicago White Sox promotional highlights and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming home series vs. Detroit. Tickets for all four games of the series are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.

Monday and Thursday's games will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, while Comcast SportsNet Plus will broadcast Tuesday's game. WCIU-TV will broadcast Wednesday's game. All four games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

Bullpen Bracket First Pitch Competition (Semifinals)

The Bullpen Bracket First Pitch Competition, a first pitch competition between eight local television and radio personalities, heads into its semifinal round. 670 The Score host Laurence Holmes will face off against B96 The J Show host J-Niice. Navy Night

National Anthem by the Spirito Singers

Ceremonial first pitch by Commander Nancy Fink of the U.S. Navy

The Chicago White Sox honor members of the United States Navy at the 2014 Navy Night. A special pregame ceremony will include 88 young men from throughout the Chicagoland area being sworn into the Navy on the field at the ballpark. The White Sox is one of only two Major League Clubs to host a Navy Recruit Division enlistment. This is the 29th consecutive year that the White Sox have hosted Navy Recruit Division that will be known as the Chicago White Sox Division.

The Spirito Singers is a choral organization comprised of two distinct choirs which are open to young women in Elmhurst, La Grange, Oak Brook, Hinsdale, Western Springs, Downers Grove, Villa Park, Melrose Park and many other Chicagoland western suburbs.

Commander Nancy Fink, the Commanding Officer of the Navy Recruiting District, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on behalf of the United States Navy. She received her Navy commission in 1991 through the Nuclear Power Officer Candidate Plan. Fink will officiate the pregame ceremony swearing in the White Sox Division of 88 recruits.

Bullpen Bracket First Pitch Competition (Semifinals)

Laura Bretan, a 12-year-old vocalist from Skokie, Ill., will sing the National Anthem. Earlier this year, she competed and won the Stars of Tomorrow Amateur Competition at the Apollo Theatre in New York City. 

Comedian Gabriel Iglesias will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. His Comedy Central premiere, "Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution," in 2011 was one of the highest rated stand-up series on the network. Iglesias also was an actor in the movie "Magic Mike" and a voice actor in Disney's "Planes." His on-stage performance and success is captured in the film "The Fluffy Movie," which opens in theaters on July 11.

The Bullpen Bracket First Pitch Competition continues with CSN Chicago sports anchor Jen Lada and US99.5 Morning Show host Ramblin' Ray Stevens.

"K Zone For Sale"

Ceremonial first pitch by South Side native Jordan Lynch of the Chicago Bears

"K Zone For Sale" is a new ballpark promotion this season in Sections 154 and 155 - a total of more than 930 seats. When White Sox ace Chris Sale starts, fans with tickets in these sections will receive a free K Zone t-shirt and strikeout card, which can be picked up at the #SoxSocial Lounge before the end of the first inning. "K Zone For Sale" tickets are $20 for most games, with the exception of Family Sundays, when the tickets are $15 (subject to availability).

Chicago native and country music artist Cheyenne Rose will sing the National Anthem.

South Side native Jordan Lynch, now a member of the Chicago Bears, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Lynch signed with the Bears in May after the 2014 draft. At Northern Illinois University, he completed 509-of-824 passes for 6,209 yards, 51 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The Heisman Trophy finalist became the fifth player in NCAA FBS history to gain over 4,000 yards rushing and 6,000 yards passing in a career.
