D-backs place Inciarte on 7-day disabled list and recall Campana from Triple-A Reno

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) placed outfielder Ender Inciarte on the 7-day concussion disabled list and recalled outfielder Tony Campana from Triple-A Reno, as announced by D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Inciarte, 23, suffered a concussion last night in Houston while stealing second base in the third inning. As he was sliding into the base he was struck in the head by Astros shortstop Jonathan Villar's knee. Inciarte remained in the game until being removed prior to the sixth inning as a precautionary measure. Inciarte has appeared in 34 games for the D-backs and hit .205 (17-for-83) with 2 doubles, 4 RBI and 4 stolen bases.

Campana, 28, is getting his second stint with the D-backs after making the Opening Day roster. He has played in 23 games for the D-backs and hit .160 (8-for-50) with 4 runs scored, 1 double, 1 triple, 2 RBI and 4 stolen bases. He was optioned to Reno on May 2 and in 33 games, hit .286 (30-for-105) with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 12 RBI and 7 stolen bases. He had hit safely in 8 of his last 10 games for the Aces (.320, 8-for-25). He played most recently last night and had a pinch-hit single @ Nashville.
