Dodgers place Chone Figgins on the 15-day DL, recall Carlos Triunfel

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed infielder/outfielder Chone Figgins on the 15-day disabled list (left quad strain) and recalled infielder Carlos Triunfel from Triple-A Albuquerque.

This marks Triunfel's second appearance on the Major League roster this season after he was recalled for the Dodgers' April 27 game against the Rockies, but did not play. Triunfel (#45) had hit safely in four of his last five games with the Isotopes and overall was hitting .212 with one home run and 14 RBI in 51 games. At Albuquerque, Triunfel appeared in games at shortstop (31), second base (14) and third base (4). The 24-year-old is in his first season with the Dodger organization after he was claimed off waivers from Seattle on April 2.

Figgins has posted a .373 on-base percentage in 38 games with the Dodgers this season.
