D-backs place Pacheco on 15-day disabled list and recall Spruill from Triple-A Reno

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) placed infielder/catcher Jordan Pacheco on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis and recalled right-handed pitcher Zeke Spruill (@zekespruill) from Triple-A Reno, as announced by D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Spruill, 24, begins his second stint with the D-backs this season after being recalled on May 25 as Arizona's 26th man. In his only appearance this season, he started the second game of a doubleheader @ Mets and took the loss after allowing 3 earned runs over 5.1 innings.

In 17 games (10 starts) with Triple-A Reno this year, Spruill has gone 3-4 with 1 save and a 6.75 ERA (43 ER in 57.1 IP).

Spruill was 0-2 with a 5.56 ERA (7 ER in 11.1 IP) in 6 games (2 starts) with Arizona last season. He did not allow a run in his first 3 relief appearances (3.1 IP).

Pacheco, 28, has appeared in 8 games for the D-backs and batted .375 (3-for-8) with a double and 2 runs scored in 8 pinch-hit appearances since being claimed off waivers from the Rockies on June 12.

The infielder/catcher played in 22 games for Colorado this season and hit .236 (17-for-72) with 6 doubles, 1 triple and 8 RBI while appearing in 19 games at catcher, 4 at first base and 1 at second base.
