News & Notes About the A's Upcoming Homestand

Division-leading Toronto Blue Jays and Bay Area rival San Francisco Giants visit the O.co Coliseum

OAKLAND - Boasting Major League Baseball's best record (51-31) and continuing to set their sights on a third straight division title, the Oakland Athletics return to the O.co Coliseum Thursday night for a six-game homestand against the American League East-leading Toronto Blue Jays and Bay Area rival San Francisco Giants.

The homestand begins on Thursday, July 3, with Patriotic Fireworks Night presented by GovX.com, when the A's play host to the Blue Jays at 6:05 p.m. The series continues with a special 1:05 p.m. Independence Day matinee against the Jays, who feature one of the most potent offenses in baseball with the likes of Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Jose Reyes.

After the Jays series wraps up with a Saturday night game and Sunday afternoon contest, one of the most anticipated two-game series begins on Monday, July 7, when the San Francisco Giants make their only trip to Oakland this season. Buster Posey, Pablo Sandoval and the rest of the Giants look to reverse Oakland's recent success over San Francisco, as the A's have won four of the last five meetings between the two Bay Area clubs.

In addition of Patriotic Fireworks Night presented by GovX.com, the homestand features a trio of Sport Clips Charity Cuts games on July 3-5, as well as the annual A's Beerfest prior to the game on Saturday, July 5.
