Rays return for final homestand before All-Star break

Following an 11-game, 10-day road trip over three different cities, the Tampa Bay Rays return to Tropicana Field for their final six games before the All-Star break. The Rays host the Kansas City Royals (July 7-9) for a three-game set beginning Monday before a weekend series against the American League East-leading Toronto Blue Jays (July 11-13).

The Rays-Royals series begins on Monday, July 7 with a 7:10 p.m. game. The two teams are also scheduled to play at 7:10 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

The Rays and Blue Jays open their series on Friday, July 11 at 7:10 p.m. Fans can purchase a Tampa Bay Times Ticket Tandem for Friday night's 7:10 p.m. game to receive a special limited edition Rays Umbrella, only available through this offer. At the conclusion of Saturday's Rays-Blue Jays 4:10 p.m. game, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will perform at Tropicana Field as the third act in the 2014 Summer Concert Series presented by Ruth Eckerd Hall. The concert is free with the purchase of a ticket to Saturday's game. In addition to game tickets, fans can watch Joan Jett and the Blackhearts from the field by purchasing field access passes available at raysbaseball.com/concerts.

As the leader of the hard-rocking Blackhearts, Joan Jett has had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top-40 singles, including the classics "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," "I Hate Myself For Loving You" and "Crimson and Clover." Jett also sits at the head of her own independent label, Blackheart Records and has acted in movies and television, including 1987's Light of Day and in a Tony-nominated Broadway musical, The Rocky Horror Show. Jett and the Blackhearts continuously tour across the globe and their latest record, Unvarnished, was released this past fall. 

Sunday's 1:40 p.m. game against the Blue Jays is also Tampa Bay Times Family Fun Day. When gates open at 11:40 a.m., kids 14 and under will receive a Yunel Escobar Basketball Set, presented by Sun Sports, while supplies last. Additionally, Captain Barnacles Bear and Kwazii Kitty from The Octonauts will be in attendance. Fans can get their pictures taken with the pair at 2 p.m. in Raymond's Funhouse.

TAMPA BAY TIMES FAMILY FUN DAY-Every Rays Sunday home game will feature free parking for cars with four or more passengers and a variety of free activities for kids on the concourse, courtesy of the Tampa Bay Times. Postgame Sunday will also feature Kids Run the Bases and the DJ Kitty Kids Party.
