Roger Clemens to host Rocketman Celebrity Slam at Minute Maid Park

Charitable celebrity softball game to take place on Tuesday, July 15

HOUSTON, TX - Seven-time Cy Young Award winner and former Astros pitching legend Roger Clemens will host the Rocketman Celebrity Slam softball game at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday, July 15. Proceeds of the charitable event will benefit the Roger Clemens Foundation, other children's charities and the military.

The all-star celebrity lineup for the softball game includes Astros greats Jeff Bagwell and Roy Oswalt, Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley, former Dynamo forward and current Houston Dash Managing Director Brian Ching, former NBA All-Star and current Skeeters pitcher Tracy McGrady, Houston Texans punter Shane Lechler as well as many other former and current athletes from across the sports world. Local Houston rapper Paul Wall, country music artist Toby Keith, actor Lee Majors and several other celebrities from the music and entertainment industry will also participate in the Rocketman Celebrity Slam.

The schedule of events is as follows:

5:00 p.m. - Gates open

6:00-6:45 p.m. - Lady Celebrity Batting Practice

6:55 p.m. - National Anthem, performed by Macy Medford

7:00 p.m. - First pitch

The game is scheduled to last seven innings, ending at approximately 8:30 p.m. There will also be live musical entertainment between innings and after the game.

The 2014 MLB All-Star Game will also be live-streaming on El Grande, so fans can watch both games simultaneously. The 2014 MLB All-Star Game, which is being played at Target Field in Minnesota, begins at 7:00 p.m. CT.
