Blue Jays recall Kratz

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have recalled C ERIK KRATZ from Buffalo of the International League (AA) and placed OF COLE GILLESPIE on the 15-day disabled list with an abdominal strain.

KRATZ, 34, has appeared in 30 games for the Blue Jays this season, posting a .221 average with three home runs and 10 RBI. For the Buffalo Bisons, the right-handed hitter has a .316 average with three home runs and 17 RBI in 25 contests. Kratz has played in 159 career Major League games with Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Toronto and owns a .220 average with 21 home runs.
