Dodgers RBI hosts RBI West Regional; five leagues compete in three divisions

LOS ANGELES - Dodgers RBI will host the 2014 RBI West Regional tournament as five leagues will be competing in the Junior, Senior and Softball Divisions beginning Friday, July 18 and running through Sunday, July 20.

RBI teams will be represented by the host Dodgers (Dodgers RBI), the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Angels RBI), the Arizona RBI, Seattle Parks & Recreation RBI and Nobu Yamauchi RBI from Hilo, Hawaii.

The Softball Division featuring girls ages 13-18 begins play at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, and all games over the three day competition will be held at the MLB Urban Youth Academy located at 901 E. Artesia Blvd. in Compton. The championship game on Sunday, July 20 will begin at 10 a.m.

The Junior Division tournament will feature boys ages 13 to 15, and competition will be held at Algin Sutton Recreation Center (located at 8800 S. Hoover St. in Los Angeles) beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. The championship game will be played at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, July 20 at 9 a.m.

The Senior Division Tournament will pit boys ages 16 to 18, and competition will take place at Jesse Owens Park (located at 9651 S. Western Avenue in Los Angeles). The championship game of this division will be played at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, July 20 at 11:30 a.m.

Dodgers RBI is a comprehensive, urban youth baseball program for boys and girls, ages 5-18. Working together with local organizations, parents and volunteers, Dodgers RBI currently offers 2,700 youth the opportunity to learn and enjoy the games of baseball and softball with special emphasis on education, recreation and healthy habits for young people.
