White Sox Charities to honor Paul Konerko with commemorative bobblehead

Special Commemorative Paul Konerko Bobblehead Sold at U.S. Cellular Field and Online Starting July 18

CHICAGO - Chicago White Sox Charities will honor first baseman Paul Konerko with a commemorative bobblehead. The collectible bobblehead will be available for purchase at U.S. Cellular Field and online starting July 18, with proceeds benefiting Chicago White Sox Charities and the Children's Home + Aid Bring Me Home Campaign.

The bobblehead depicts the White Sox captain tipping his cap, and the cardboard box features various moments from Konerko's 15-season tenure with the White Sox. Each bobblehead will receive a limited edition certificate with specific numbering. The bobblehead will be available for $35 each at U.S. Cellular Field in sections 100, 135 and 535 and online at whitesox.com/Paulie. There will be a $10 shipping and handling fee for online purchases.

"Paul has been a tremendous supporter of White Sox Charities throughout his career with the White Sox," said Christine O'Reilly, executive director of Chicago White Sox Charities. "We are thankful for his efforts both on and off the field, and this commemorative bobblehead will allow fans to show their support for Paul, while also giving back to a great cause."

Proceeds from the bobblehead will benefit White Sox Charities and the Children's Home + Aid Bring Me Home Campaign, which seeks to bring attention to the needs of some of Illinois most vulnerable children and families. The Bring Me Home Campaign was founded eight years ago by Paul Konerko and Jim Thome to help raise awareness, generate support, recruit foster parents and advocate for the needs of foster children and families. In its first seven years, the campaign raised nearly $450,000 and touched the lives of more than 1,000 children.
