Dodgers partner with First Council District & Central City Action youth workers to clean up Elysian Park

First Anniversary Clean Up To Be Held Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers will partner with Councilman Gilbert Cedillo, the First Council District and the Central City Action Youth Workers to clean-up Elysian Park on Saturday, July 19 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Former Dodger Derrel Thomas and Dodgers' Manager of Neighborhood and Government Affairs Oscar Delgado will join District #1 on the first anniversary of the clean-up program in Elysian Park. Volunteers can join Councilman Gilbert Cedillo, the Dodgers and the Central City Action Youth Workers at 9 a.m. at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Center located at 1700 Stadium Way in Los Angeles.

"On this one year anniversary since we took office, I am delighted to partner with the Los Angeles Dodgers and countless community groups to clean up the First District," said Councilman Cedillo. "It's these valuable partnerships that have made our 'Keep It Clean' campaign a success. We will continue to clean up our district one community at a time until we make the First District #1."

"The Dodgers realize the importance and want to do their part in keeping our neighborhoods clean," said Senior Vice President External Affairs Renata Simril. "When we opened our season, we instituted a program in partnership with the LA Conservation Corp. to make sure we cleaned up the neighborhood after each home game. This program as well as Councilman Cedillo's District #1 Clean Up effort are important in keeping Elysian Park and our neighborhood clean."
