Twins return Santana from rehab and reinstate from disabled list

Option Herrmann to Triple-A

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned infielder/outfielder Danny Santana from his rehab assignment at Single-A Ft. Myers and reinstated him from the disabled list. Santana missed 17 games after suffering a left knee bone bruise on June 25 at Los Angeles (AL). Santana played in three games on rehab assignment with the Miracle, he made two starts in center field and one at shortstop.

To make room for Santana on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann to Triple-A Rochester. Herrmann appeared in one game for the Twins during his recent stint, going 1-for-1 with an RBI on July 13 at Colorado.
