Twins to recall right-handed pitcher Ryan Pressly

Right-handed pitcher Matt Guerrier designated for release or assignment

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they will recall right-handed pitcher Ryan Pressly from Triple-A Rochester prior to tomorrow's game vs. the White Sox. Pressly has a record of 1-4, with a 2.98 ERA (60.1 IP, 20 ER), 21 walks, 63 strikeouts and six saves in 35 appearances with the Red Wings this season. The 25-year-old right-hander appeared in 49 games for the Twins last year posting a record of 3-3, 3.87 ERA (76.2 IP, 33 ER) with 27 walks and 49 strikeouts.

Additionally, right-handed pitcher Matt Guerrier was designated for release or assignment, making room for Pressly on the 25-man roster. Guerrier has appeared in 27 games for the Twins this season and has a record of 1-0, with a 3.86 ERA (28.0 IP, 12 ER), 10 walks and 12 strikeouts. He is third on the Twins all-time relief innings list with 488.0 innings pitched and fifth on the club's all-time list for appearances with 420. 

Pressly will wear number 57.
