Blue Jays activate Brett Lawrie

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have returned infielder BRETT LAWRIE from his medical rehabilitation assignment in Dunedin of the Florida State League (A) and have activated him from the 15-day disabled list. He will fill the roster spot of STEVE TOLLESON who has been placed on the paternity list.

LAWRIE, 24, appeared in three games with Dunedin batting .400 (4-10) while rehabbing from a fractured right index finger suffered on June 22 in Cincinnati.   In 69 games this season the right handed hitter is batting .244 with 12 home runs and 38 RBI.

TOLLESON, 30, is batting .246 through 73 games this season with three home runs and 13 RBI. He will be inactive for a minimum of one day and a maximum of three.
