Rays open 2015 season at home on April 6 vs. Baltimore

Yankees, Mets, Red Sox highlight weekend schedule

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-The Tampa Bay Rays will open the 2015 season on Monday, April 6 at 3:10 p.m. versus the Baltimore Orioles at Tropicana Field. The schedule is subject to change. While all game times will be released at a later date, Sunday games will change from 1:40 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. 

The schedule includes weekend series with the New York Yankees (April 17-19) and Mets (August 7-9) and two with the Boston Red Sox (June 26-28 and September 11-13).

For the third consecutive season, the Rays will play 20 interleague games. In 2015, the Rays will face the National League East Division including home and home series with the Miami Marlins, Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals. In addition to hosting a series with the Mets, the Rays will play a three-game series at Philadelphia.

The schedule includes 76 games versus the American League East Division, 34 against the AL West and 32 versus the AL Central. The breakdown includes 19 games each against the Yankees (10 home, 9 away), Orioles (10 home, 9 away), Red Sox (9 home, 10 away) and Toronto Blue Jays (9 home, 10 away). They will also play seven games against the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, Oakland A's and Seattle Mariners. The Rays will have six games apiece with the Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Rays close out the 2014 regular season with a six-game homestand against the Marlins and Blue Jays (September 29-October 4). It will be the first time the Rays have ever played an interleague game in September.

This will be the sixth consecutive season the Rays will open the season at home. It will also be the seventh time the Rays have faced the Orioles in their season opener and the sixth time in Manager Joe Maddon's 10 seasons.
