Angels announce 2015 season schedule

55th Major League season begins April 6th

The Angels today announced their schedule for the 2015 regular season, which begins with a brief three-game road series against division rival Seattle (April 6-8), followed by a home opening series against Kansas City (April 10-12). The club will also finish on the road with a four-game set against Texas (Oct. 1-4). A finalized 2015 schedule, complete with game times, will be released at a later date.

The Angels three-game set in Seattle represents the 11th time in club history the two have faced each other to begin a campaign, and the second consecutive season.

The 2015 schedule features 11 homestands, including a pair of 10-game homestands (May 25-June 3, July 17-26), one nine-game stand (Sept. 4-13) and 12 road trips. The Angels will play 32 of their 56 games in May and June at home. The Halos will have two East Coast road trips to Baltimore (May 15-17), Toronto (May 18-21), Boston (May 22-24) and New York (June 5-7), and Tampa Bay (June 9-11) prior to June 12th and will not travel to the East Coast again until facing Detroit (Aug. 25-27) and Cleveland (Aug. 28-30).

From Aug. 31 through Oct. 4, the Angels will play 25 of their final 32 games against Western Division opponents.

In 2015, the Angels play 20 Interleague games - each against the National League West. The 20 games will be played in eight series, four at the Big A and four on the road. The final Interleague matchup will pit the Angels against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Anaheim (Sept. 7-9).

The Interleague lineup will see the Angels play host to Colorado (May 12-13), San Diego (May 25-27), Arizona (June 15-16) and Dodgers, while the club will make stops in San Francisco (May 1-3), Arizona (June 17-18), Colorado (July 7-8) and Los Angeles (July 31-Aug. 2). The annual Freeway Series with the Dodgers has been increased to six games in 2015.
