MLB Announces 2014 Postseason Schedule

Major League Baseball today announced the schedule for the 2014 Postseason, which is set to open with the American League Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser on TBS on Tuesday, September 30^th. Game One of the 2014 World Series on FOX is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21^st in the ballpark of the American League Champions.

Following the scheduled Sunday, September 28^th regular season finale, potentially necessary regular season Tiebreaker Games would be telecast exclusively by ESPN on Monday, September 29^th. Tuesday's A.L. Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser on TBS will be followed by the Wednesday, October 1^st N.L. Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser, which will be telecast exclusively by ESPN. This will be the first time that ESPN will be a part of MLB's Postseason game telecasts since 2006.

Both A.L. Division Series will begin on Thursday, October 2^nd. The first full slate of Division Series games, featuring two N.L. Division Series openers and a pair of ALDS Game Twos, will be held on Friday, October 3^rd. Overall, the Division Series will be scheduled from Thursday, October 2^nd through Thursday, October 9^th, with a pair of potential Game Fives possible on Wednesday, October 8^th (ALDS) and Thursday, October 9^th (NLDS). TBS will cover all ALDS games, while FOX Sports 1 and MLB Network will combine to air all NLDS games. 

The American League Championship Series, beginning on Friday, October 10^th, will be telecast exclusively on TBS. The National League Championship Series, beginning on Saturday, October 11^th, will be shared by FOX Sports and FOX Sports 1. Saturday, October 11^th will feature Game One of the NLCS on FOX and Game Two of the ALCS on TBS. A potential Game Seven of the ALCS is scheduled for Saturday, October 18^th, while a potential Game Seven of the NLCS is set for Sunday, October 19^th. 

Game One of the 2014 World Series is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21^st in the city of the American League Champions. This will mark the first time that the World Series will start on a day other than Wednesday since the 2006 Fall Classic, which began on a Saturday. From 1991-2006, the World Series was scheduled to open on Saturday each year. The World Series has not begun on a Tuesday since 1990. Overall, the Postseason schedule has been shortened by one day, removing one of the two off days that had been between the last potential LCS game and the first game of the World Series.

The Fall Classic will shift to the ballpark of the National League Champions for Game Three on Friday, October 24^th. A Game Seven, if necessary, would be played on Wednesday, October 29^th back in the A.L. city. The scheduled off days during the World Series are Thursday, October 23^rd and Monday, October 27^th. FOX Sports will present exclusive live telecast coverage of the World Series for the 17^th time.

ESPN Radio will provide live national coverage of all 2014 MLB Postseason games, including the Wild Card Games.
