A's Reinstate LHP Sean Doolittle from the Disabled List

The Oakland A's reinstated left-handed pitcher Sean Doolittle from the 15-day disabled list, the club announced today.

Doolittle was 1-3 with 20 saves, a 2.28 ERA and .171 opponents batting average in 54 relief appearances when he was placed on the disabled list Aug. 24 with a strained right intercostal. He has struck out 80 batters in 55.1 innings and has walked just five for a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 16.00. Doolittle leads Major League relievers in strikeout-to-walk ratio and fewest walks per nine innings (0.81). He holds the Oakland record for saves by a left-handed pitcher and currently has a 13.0-inning scoreless streak.
