Blue Jays Roster Moves

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have outrighted INF MUNENORI KAWASAKI, 1B DAN JOHNSON and C GEORGE KOTTARAS to Buffalo of the International League (AAA). Johnson and Kottaras have both elected free agency.

KAWASAKI, 33, appeared in 82 games, batting .258 with a .327 OBP. In 239 career games with Seattle and Toronto, the Kogoshima, Japan native has recorded a .235 average with one home run and 48 RBI.

JOHNSON, 35, hit .211 in 15 contests this season and now owns a .236 career average with 57 home runs and a .337 OBP over parts of nine seasons.

KOTTARAS, 31, appeared in four games for the Blue Jays in September and 14 overall this season (Indians and Cardinals). The Scarborough, Ontario native is a veteran of seven seasons and has posted a .215 average with 32 home runs and 101 RBI.
