1,200 campers join Jays Care to begin 28th annual Rookie League season

Rookie League, Jays Care's signature baseball for development program, has two distinct outcomes: to enhance the life-skills and physical health of children from low-income households in Toronto and to enhance the employment skills and positive self-identity of youth living in TCHC communities.

On Thursday, July 7thJAYS CARE FOUNDATION, in partnership with TORONTO COMMUNITY HOUSING CORPORATION (TCHC), will launch its 28th season of Rookie League in Toronto at Centennial Park in Etobicoke, Ontario.
 
Rookie League, Jays Care's signature baseball for development program, has two distinct outcomes: to enhance the life-skills and physical health of children from low-income households in Toronto and to enhance the employment skills and positive self-identity of youth living in TCHC communities. Throughout the summer, more than 1,200 campers from 43 Toronto Community Housing neighbourhoods will play and grow through Rookie League and the game of baseball.
 
To officially kick off the Toronto Rookie League season, participants will be joined by Sportsnet's own Buck Martinez.
