BOSTON, MA – As the Red Sox prepare for the January 28 general ticket on-sale, the team will embark on the 2012 Red Sox Road Trip presented by Coca-Cola, a three-day, six-state tour through New England taking place January 20 through January 22.

The Road Trip will make stops in Freeport, ME, South Burlington, VT, Manchester, NH, Farmington, CT, Providence, RI, and Marlborough, MA. The six-stop caravan is currently scheduled to include appearances at select locations by Red Sox infielder Mike Aviles and catcher Ryan Lavarnway, as well as Red Sox alumni Bob Stanley, Dennis Boyd, Sam Horn, Rich Gedman and Bill Monbouquette. Additional information on the location, time and player appearances of each road trip stop can be found at redsox.com/roadtrip.

Ticket vouchers for the 2012 regular season will be distributed at each stop, allowing fans the opportunity to purchase tickets in advance of the general ticket on-sale, which begins Saturday, January 28 at 10 a.m. All distributed vouchers – valid for four 2012 regular season tickets at Fenway Park – must be redeemed online at redsox.com during the presale window specified on the voucher. Fans holding vouchers who do not have internet access or who require ADA accessible seating may also call 877-REDSOX9 during the presale window. Hearing impaired fans may call the Red Sox TTY line at (617) 226-6644.

The 2012 Red Sox Road Trip presented by Coca-Cola will also feature the second annual "Sing Your Way to Fenway" contest where fans of all ages will have the opportunity to audition to perform the national anthem at Fenway Park. The first 100 fans at each stop will be guaranteed the opportunity to audition, with additional attendees to be viewed based on time constraints. The winner from each state will be invited to sing at Fenway Park on a mutually agreeable date. For more information on the "Sing Your Way to Fenway" contest, please visit redsox.com/roadtrip.

Additionally, one lucky fan from each state who visits a Red Sox Road Trip tour stop will be selected as a grand prize winner for the Red Sox Road Trip VIP Experience. The VIP experience includes a pre-game VIP tour of the ballpark and four tickets to a game on the winner’s State Day at Fenway Park. Fans can register at each tour stop location and the winner will be randomly selected and notified via phone.

In addition to appearances by Aviles, Lavarnway and Red Sox Alumni at select stops, the Red Sox Road Trip will include Wally the Green Monster, Fenway Ambassadors, the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox World Series Trophies, a display of Red Sox historical artifacts and memorabilia, copies of the Red Sox book, Fenway Park: 100 Years, along with a balloon artist and face painter. The Ambassadors will give away pocket schedules and other collectibles and souvenirs at each stop. Fans will also have the opportunity to sign up for Red Sox Nation and Kid Nation fan clubs.

The Road Trip will lead up to the general ticket on-sale for the 2012 regular season games at Fenway Park, which begins Saturday, January 28 at 10:00 a.m. Fans will be able to purchase tickets to all games at Fenway Park, with the exception of Opening Day and all games with the New York Yankees for which a special random drawing will be held at a later date.
