2015 Spring Training Schedule, First Workout Dates & Photo Day Information

The 2015 Spring Training exhibition schedule will begin on Sunday, March 1st as the Philadelphia Phillies host the University of Tampa in Clearwater, Florida, Major League Baseball announced today. Cactus League games will begin on Tuesday, March 3rd, highlighted by the Oakland Athletics hosting the San Francisco Giants at their new Spring Training home, the renovated HoHoKam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona. The first full slate of games involving all 30 Major League Clubs will take place on Thursday, March 5th.

In renewals of the 2014 Fall Classic, the defending World Series Champion Giants will take on the reigning American League Champion Kansas City Royals on Sunday, March 22nd at Surprise Stadium and on Monday, March 23rd at Scottsdale Stadium.

Among games being played outside of traditional Spring Training sites, split squads of the Chicago Cubs and Athletics will play two games in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th; split squads of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers will have two contests in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st; and split squads of the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks will play in Hermosillo, Mexico on Sunday, March 29th.

Select exhibition games at Major League and Minor League ballparks will be played from Thursday, April 2nd through Saturday, April 4th. The Cubs will host the National League Central-rival St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, April 5th at Wrigley Field in the opening game of the 2015 regular season, live on ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" at 8:00 p.m. (ET)/7:00 p.m. (CT). Fourteen games are scheduled for Monday, April 6th and eight are scheduled for Tuesday, April 7th, with the first full slate of 15 regular season games scheduled for Wednesday, April 8th.
