Get Ready to Run at the 3rd Annual Phillies Charities 5K
Registration opens on Monday, January 7; Race set for Saturday, March 23
Lace up those running shoes! The 3rd annual Phillies Charities 5K returns on Saturday, March 23, 2013 and offers even more Phillies fun for participants.
Registration opens on Monday, January 7 at 9:00 a.m. on phillies.com/5k, and fans are encouraged to register early as last year’s race sold out in a few hours. The event will again be capped at 5,000 participants.
The USATF certified 5K (3.1 mile) run starts and ends at Citizens Bank Park with a loop through the surrounding area. After crossing the finish line, participants will be able to enjoy a cool down lap around the warning track on the field.
“We have some great new additions for this year’s Phillies Charities 5K,” said Mary Ann Moyer, Phillies Race Manager. “As fans run along an improved course, they’ll have some surprises along the way – including appearances by the Phillie Phanatic, live music and more. The entire event is a great way for fans to show their Phillies spirit, all for a good cause.”
Also new for 2013: all participants will receive a Phillies Charities 5K long sleeve tech tee.
