Batman: The Dark Knight Teases

I am not a huge comic book guy. I enjoyed watching The Super Friends as a kid and dressed up as The Hulk and Superman for Halloween if memory serves, but I can't tell you how the X Men came about or which villains Spiderman had to deal with in issue number two of "The Amazing Spiderman".

I am, however, a huge fan of Batman. In fact, he and the Joker are my favorite fictional characters of all time. I think the reason for this is that when it comes down to it, the Caped Crusader is just a regular guy with tremendous courage and a lot of money to buy the "wonderful toys" that he uses to fight off the worst that Gotham City has to offer.

The new, Chris Nolan- directed Batman movies are outstanding as well. They have a sense of realism that the features Tim Burton and Joel Shumacher directed lacked. Actor Christian Bale is in both films and is a very convincing as Bruce Wayne, and The Dark Knight beautifully walked the tight rope between comic book fantasy world and real life.

The next installment of the saga is set for release next year, but Warner Brothers has started warming the audience up with a brilliant viral teaser video campaign. Like the Dark Knight himself, the teasers stir up a sense of mystery and anticipation. After seeing one recently, I found myself saying aloud, "Damn! I am there opening night. ALL RIGHT, BATMAN!"

The primary case for the next film, "Dark Knight: Rises", has already been announced, and the online rumor mill is churning out its best guesses as to what Batman will encounter in Gotham's underworld this time around.

Again, I am not going to be buying any comic books anytime soon, but if Gotham City were an actual place, I would definitely consider moving there. I am a Batman fan.

Actually, while I am thinking of these things... Batman, you have an open invite to swing by the MLB Fan Cave as long as I can come hang out at The Bat Cave. It's a "Mi-Cave-es-su-Cave" type of thing.
