Ex-Idol Pia Toscano Gets Birthday Money

I think I'm in the wrong business. I just read on TMZ.com that Pia Toscano, one of the American Idol NON-winners, signed a contract to sing a few songs at a private birthday party. Now, as a struggling musical theatre performer, I know all about performing at birthday parties. Card tricks, some sing-a-longs, maybe a bit of juggling. And I usually got paid a small amount of money and all of the cake and ice cream I could get down (which usually outweighed the money).

Toscano, according to TMZ, is going to be making a little more than that for her appearance at the birthday party. She's being paid $100,000. For one day. At a birthday party.

"According to sources, Pia was initially offered $50,000 for the gig and she TURNED IT DOWN ... but the people throwing the party wanted Pia so badly, they immediately doubled their offer ... and Pia signed without batting an eye."

Really? I hope the person who is planning this birthday party is reading this. You know, I was never on American Idol, but I consider myself a good singer, and I'm funny. I even bring those extra skills I talked about above, and I guarantee you Ms. Toscano won't be juggling or doing magic. And the best part about me? I'm willing to do your party for $75,000. Think of the savings!

So, whenever you're ready to send the contract out, just shoot me a tweet @rwags614. You know what? I might even be willing to waive my cake and ice cream clause. I know that seems crazy, but it's for someone's birthday, and it's the least I can do.
